GeoIP Deny List

Note:

• The countries mentioned in this example of the GeoIP Allow List, are only mentioned here as an illustrative example.
  The mentioning of these countries should not interpreted as some kind of recommendation or statement about these countries.
• The FireWall Events with IP Addresses as mentioned in this Manual, are Events which were "caused" because of this Manual.
  The mentioning of these IP Addresses should not interpreted as some kind of recommendation or statement about these IP Addresses.

When using a GeoIP Deny List, all connections from countries on the GeoIP Deny List will be blocked. Connections from all other countries in the world are allowed.

Example:

The list shows the number of known IPv4 networks and IPv6 networks in each country.

Add a Country to the GeoIP Deny List

• Use [TAB] or [Down] for creating an empty row, and click on the field in the column Country,

or

• Right-Click with the mouse on the list with Countries and select "Add":

A popup with all Countries does appear. Select the Country that needs to be added to the GeoIP Deny List.

After adding 1 or more countries:

• Use the [Save] button for Saving the list, or
• Use the [Read] button for ignoring the changes that has just been done, and read the GeoIP Deny List again as it was saved.

Delete 1 or more Countries from the GeoIP Deny List

• Use the column Date/Time for selecting 1 or more Countries
• Right-click with the mouse
• Select Delete in the popup menu

After deleting 1 or more countries:

• Use the [Save] button for Saving the GeoIP Deny List, or
• Use the [Read] button for ignoring the changes that has just been done, and read the GeoIP Deny List again as it was saved.

Copy

• Use the column Date/Time for selecting 1 or more Countries
• Right-click with the mouse
• Select Copy in the popup menu:

The selected countries are copied to the clipboard.
From there they can be pasted into some other application:

Paste

When pasting countries into AADS Maintenance and Control, the relevant part of the line of text that is pasted are countries denoted in the format "ISO 3166  Alpha-2 code":

The following paste-examples show the format of the lines with text that can be pasted into the GeoIP Firewall lists:

It is possible and OK to 'paste' IP Addresses. The IP Addresses will be looked up for their GeoIP country and those countries will be 'pasted' into the GeoIP Firewall list.
