Default Applications and Sets

"Default Applications and Sets" is available in AADS for:

• Windows Server 2008-R2, SBS 2008, SBS 2011
• Windows Server 2008
• Windows Server 2003
• Windows 7
• Windows Vista
• Windows XP Prof SP2 or higher

Other AADS version for other Windows version do have the similar function Optimize.

Generate

"Default Applications and Sets" is an easy "wizard" which generates default Applications and Sets. This can be used, for example, when working with AADS Demo and if you want to start with "exploring" what AADS Application Control can do for you:

• Click on the "Generate" button
• ...wait a few seconds...
• the result will be shown in Users, Groups and Applications

Office and Browsers

• In case Microsoft Office is installed, a Set for Microsoft Office will be created
• In case Libre Office is installed, a Set for Libre Office will be created
• In case one for the following browsers is installed, the browser will appear on in the Set "Internet Browsers"

  • Chromium (Enterprise Installation, not a single user installation)

Relaxed Application Control

"Default Applications and Sets" does not apply Restrict Application Control, but does apply  Relaxed Application Control:

It is certainly possible to change this settings, and apply Restrict Application Control .

"Default Applications and Sets" Result

When "Default Applications and Sets" is used for disabling the default Windows Start Menu, all Users will be presented with an AADS Start Menu.

The details and settings of the AADS Start Menu can be changed and adjusted by the Administrator with Application Control.
